I have more Valentines to share, but I’ve been so busy making “thank you” cards that I haven’t finished blogging about February’s Valentine-themed cards. If I had more time, I’d blog about all the cards from 2010-2012 you’ve never seen. I take a picture of every card I make, and only blog about 10% of them because sometimes it takes longer to blog than to make a card. It would be a weird (and wonderful) feeling to be caught up sharing all the cards and projects here on my blog. Someday, right?

This is the Valentine card I made for my awesome husband. It’s amazing how creative and inspired one feels when they’re loved and cherished enough. I’ve definitely made a lot more cards because of his encouragement over the years.

I started with a sheet of “Sweetheart” paper from DCWV and cut it to size for my 4″ x 6″ card.  I attached it to a folded 4″ x 12″ piece of black textured cardstock that I sanded with an old Revlon nail file.  I think I found these heart gems in the $1 section at Michael’s – I love them because they’re already in the right shape, so all I have to do is life the heart off the backing and it sticks right onto my card.

I used stickers from the “Yours Truly” collection by Echo Park: the sentiment below and the hearts at the base of the card.  Behind the sticker sentiment that I popped up with double-sided foam tape, I used half of a doily shape I cut from pink paper with my Cricut Artiste cartridge from Close to My Heart and ribbon from CTMH’s Designer Ribbon Red Collection (ON SUPER CLEARANCE RIGHT NOW!!).  Below that, I used a coordinating lacy strip of paper I cut with the same Artiste Cricut cartridge.  I love using the “Fit to Length” button on my Cricut Expression machine to make this the correct width for my cards.  I’ve had a Cricut for 4 or 5 years and only learned what this button 10 months ago!  It would have saved me a lot of wrong guesses and scraps I didn’t use if only I had learned that earlier.

I used some heart stickers and red adhesive gems for the bottom part of the card.

Here’s a final picture of the card.  Thank you for reading my blog!
