Hello, and Happy Monday! Yesterday “crafternoon” I made this fun frame from the new Close to My Heart Designed Décor Frame Kit. My husband and I take a lot of “selfies” with our phones to help us remember the fun we were having while out and about or with friends. I turned some recent phone photos into pictures for this project by sizing them down and laying them all out on a page I printed onto photo paper. I trimmed each picture so they’d fit behind the 3″ across by 2.75″ high opening in the kraft cardstock Polaroid-style picture frames.

Before attaching the photos, I personalized each frame with words that reflected the photo to be showcased and I took this picture to help me recall which photo went with which frame before cutting out the pictures. Please excuse the desk mess – I didn’t know I’d be using this picture in the blog!

My Designed Décor Frame Kit in progress

I used the exclusive stamp set that came with this kit [B1430 Happiness Lives Here] as well as a sentiment from the retired [D1548 Whooo’s Your Valentine] stamp set and stamps from these two new collections: [C1561 One-Way Borders] and [D1558 Washi Wonder, a Hostess Rewards Exclusive]. I love the retired CTMH stamp set I used for the “MR. & MRS.,” called E1013 Field Trip Alphabet. The inks I used were a smattering of Desert Sand on the edges of all the kraft cardstock, Ruby, Outdoor Denim, and White Daisy. I also added some red crystal gems from my stash of embellishments and used double-sided foam adhesive to make the “LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU” word bubble pop out.

I used the twine that came with the kit and threaded it through the banners and attached them in place with Memory Book Mini Glue Dots®. I held the twine in place with some washi tape from my collection. I still have plenty of supplies leftover from this kit, which makes me happy because they will definitely be used.

Now our bare brick wall has some life! If you’d like to order the Designed Décor Frame Kit, you may order from the website or contact me. Thanks for reading my blog!

About Stephanie Chumbley

Growing up in the shadow of the Space Needle, I loved drawing portraits with a #2 pencil and sometimes a ballpoint pen because I liked the challenge. I collected pens and pencils and enjoyed looking at fonts and logos and replicating them by hand. I was in AP art classes in high school and took some graphic design classes at Seattle Central. While in college, I had a part-time job making signs for Drug Emporium / Longs Drugs with my "Steph Font." In my 20s, I made a lot of invitations for dinner parties and later, when I bought my Cricut Expression electronic cutter in 2008, I started making cards for all occasions. In 2009, I discovered Close to My Heart and enjoyed being my Consultant's best customer... but in May 2011, I finally gave in and became and Independent Consultant. It was a very good decision! :-) Nearly everything I make is given away or sold so others can enjoy some handmade art. I've made over 1,000 cards and projects and this blog serves as a way to share and hopefully inspire others to create projects of their own. Someday I hope to catch up and blog about all the cards I've made.
