My friend Christine David had a fun class over the weekend, and I am so glad she encouraged me to attend!  For $15, we had two hours to make as many cards as possible, using Close to My Heart (CTMH) products.  When we arrived to her studio, she had ten plastic baskets on the table and inside each basket was a card sample she had designed plus most of the supplies needed to make the card.  We could make as many cards as we had time for, but at the two hour mark, she would take away the baskets and we would have to stop.  If we placed an order, the card class price dropped or became free depending on how much we spent.

When it comes to certain things, I get very competitive.  I thought we might be awarded for how many cards we could make so at first I was making two of each card.  I made a total of nine cards and of those nine, six were different.  I wish I’d had a chance to make the rest of Christine’s cards but we ran out of time.  As I observed the other class attendees, I am confident in saying I made the most cards.  😉

Here is a picture of everything I made in those two hours.  It saved me so much time to have most of the pieces already cut for us when we arrived – thank you, Christine!!

About Stephanie Chumbley

Growing up in the shadow of the Space Needle, I loved drawing portraits with a #2 pencil and sometimes a ballpoint pen because I liked the challenge. I collected pens and pencils and enjoyed looking at fonts and logos and replicating them by hand. I was in AP art classes in high school and took some graphic design classes at Seattle Central. While in college, I had a part-time job making signs for Drug Emporium / Longs Drugs with my "Steph Font." In my 20s, I made a lot of invitations for dinner parties and later, when I bought my Cricut Expression electronic cutter in 2008, I started making cards for all occasions. In 2009, I discovered Close to My Heart and enjoyed being my Consultant's best customer... but in May 2011, I finally gave in and became and Independent Consultant. It was a very good decision! :-) Nearly everything I make is given away or sold so others can enjoy some handmade art. I've made over 1,000 cards and projects and this blog serves as a way to share and hopefully inspire others to create projects of their own. Someday I hope to catch up and blog about all the cards I've made.

  1. Yes, hands down Stephanie is the fast card maker in the West. These 9 cards are nothing compared to the stacks of cards she made at the National Scrapbook Day crop. I now understand how she can make enough cards to shower love on all of her friends, family and clients.

  2. I absolutely LOVE all of these cards! Especially the “pennants.” Way to go doubling up your cards…that’s a great trick 🙂
