I may have mentioned that I enjoy attending Terry Bolender‘s monthly Stamp Camp and Stamp Club meetings.  Terry sells Stampin’ Up! brand products and I started buying products from her last July after searching for a demonstrator in Kent, WA.  I found her online and saw that she hosted regular classes for card-making and when we met in person, I knew she was someone I wanted to spend time with.

At Stamp Camp, we make 6 – 7 cards for just $10.  Terry pre-cuts everything and gathers everything needed for a particular card into a small plastic bin that gets passed around and shared.  She shows us each beautiful card and demonstrates any tips or hints she’d like to share with us and she stays nearby to assist us.  At Stamp Club, we get to make a fun paper-craft project that she’s designed or purchased the rights to use.

I wasn’t able to attend Stamp Camp because we were celebrating my husband’s birthday, so she let me do the Stamp Camp & Stamp Club all in one very late night.  I didn’t even finish all my cards and I still need to get the materials from her for my seventh card.  I finally had a chance to use my new giant ATG 714 “laser gun” adhesive!  Terry supplies the glue and adhesive, but I wanted to take my new monster adhesive tape gun out for a spin.  I really like how well it holds paper together and it will take me some time to get used to.

Here are the beautiful cards and special project we made at her house, based on her designs:

I made the paper rose with the holiday ornament punch – what a great use for that paper punch!  I decided to order it so I could make more roses and spray them with Smooch Spritz.  It’s resting on a cool box I made from two pieces of paper.

Now, I’m not going to show you a close-up of every card because some of my blog readers may find one of these cards in their mailbox someday.  🙂  If you want to see a particular card close-up or have questions, please post a comment below and I’ll help.  Thanks for reading my blog!

About Stephanie Chumbley

Growing up in the shadow of the Space Needle, I loved drawing portraits with a #2 pencil and sometimes a ballpoint pen because I liked the challenge. I collected pens and pencils and enjoyed looking at fonts and logos and replicating them by hand. I was in AP art classes in high school and took some graphic design classes at Seattle Central. While in college, I had a part-time job making signs for Drug Emporium / Longs Drugs with my "Steph Font." In my 20s, I made a lot of invitations for dinner parties and later, when I bought my Cricut Expression electronic cutter in 2008, I started making cards for all occasions. In 2009, I discovered Close to My Heart and enjoyed being my Consultant's best customer... but in May 2011, I finally gave in and became and Independent Consultant. It was a very good decision! :-) Nearly everything I make is given away or sold so others can enjoy some handmade art. I've made over 1,000 cards and projects and this blog serves as a way to share and hopefully inspire others to create projects of their own. Someday I hope to catch up and blog about all the cards I've made.

  1. These are so adorable! I really love the bright colors and all the designs. I keep thinking about getting that tape gun, but I just think it’s too big and clunky. I’m thinking of getting the smaller version…I forget the brand but it’s green and pink and half the size. I saw it at a local scrapbook store. You’ll have to keep updating on how you like yours 🙂
